PACKS OF DRY ICETechni-ICE ™ Dry Ice Packs last longer than any other ice packs we’ve tried. We ship frozen food with the goal of keeping it frozen 3 days and cold into the forth day. We use 1 1/2 inch thick sided styrofoam coolers and to ship about 4-8 pounds of frozen food, we use 2 sheets (actually 4 half sheets, sometimes 3 half-sheets when it’s not hot outside). In larger coolers with 10-15 pounds of frozen food, we use 3 sheets. We have used 5-6 sheets to keep frozen food cold up to 6 days, and another sheet or two to keep it cold 7 to 8 days. Combining Techni-ICE with dry ice yields the longest-lasting result: 4 or 5 sheets of Techni-ICE with 5 pounds of dry ice lasts 6-7 days.A rule of thumb to start with is one sheet for every 8 quarts (2 gallons) of cooler space, however… The length of time any ice pack will last will depend on several things: your cooler or container type, how much Techni-ICE you use, how long you freeze the Techni-ICE (24 hour minimum), the size of what you’re trying to keep cold, and the outside temperature… even how much air-space is in your container. Make sure to hydrate the Techni-ICE to about 1 1/4 inches thick. You will have to experiment to find what is the least amount of Techni-ICE you can use for what you’re trying to do.Techni-ICE ™ is a temperature control solution.
